Tickets: $15 door, $12 advance, $10 student/senior
Performed by Nicole LeGette with an all-male ensemble from the blushing poppy Dance Club, disRuptureEnrapture features live original music from guest artists Renee Baker’s Chicago Modern Orchestra Project and vocalist Louise Cloutier, along with other surprises!
disRuptureEnrapture is a vibrant, viscerally resonating piece that ravages viewers through hive-mind, herd-like primal attack, stealth, and chaos. Utilizing rich metaphor and rigorous physicality, aggression, intimidation, anxiety, and violence are contrasted with radical stillness and silent isolation.
disRuptureEnrapture brims with ridiculous mockery, unconventional beauty, and a delicacy that questions notions of sanity, vulnerability, and strength.
Butoh is undeniably compelling- admittedly sometimes repelling- but reflects a deep compassion for being alive with bodies.
